| Apple Cider Pound Cake
1 cup of butter or margarine, softened 1/2 cup of shortening 3 cups of sugar 6 eggs 3 cups of all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder 1/2 teaspoon of salt 3/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon of ground allspice 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon of cloves 1 cup of apple cider 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract |

Combine butter and shortening, mixing well. Gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with apple cider, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
