Easy Shepherd's Pie

One 28 ounce package of frozen mashed potatoes
1 3/4 cups of milk
One 10 ounce package of frozen mixed vegetables
1 pound of ground beef, or ground turkey or chicken
1/4 cup of water
1 teaspoon of dried minced onion
One 10 3/4 ounce can of condensed tomato soup
1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon of dried thyme, crushed
1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

Prepare the potatoes according to package directions using 4 cups of of the frozen potatoes and the milk. Meanwhile, run cold water over the frozen vegetables to separate. In a large skillet cook ground meat until brown. Drain any fat. Stir in the vegetables, water, and onion. Bring to boiling and reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Stir in soup, Worcestershire, and thyme. return to boiling. Drop the potatoes in mounds on top of the hot mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes or until heated through. Makes 6 servings
