| | Scalloped Pork Chops 1 pound of onions 4 medium carrots 4 large potatoes 4 loin pork chops 1 tablespoon of cooking oil 1 teaspoon of salt freshly ground black pepper to taste 1 tablespoon of flour 1/2 teaspoon of celery seed 3 cups of warmed milk | | Peel the onions, carrots, and potatoes and cut into thin slices. Brown the chops in oil, but do not allow the outer surfaces to get hard. Make a layer of chops, onions, carrots and potatoes in a 3 quart casserole. Season with salt and pepper. Mix flour with celery seed and dust over. Finish layering, ending with potatoes. Pour milk over. Cover casserole and bake in 350ºF. oven for 1 hour or until the carrots and potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork. Serves 4 |
