Scalloped Chicken & Oysters

1 small chicken, cooked
saltine cracker crumbs
butter
salt and black pepper to taste
2 pounds of fresh mushrooms, sliced
4 1/2 dozen large oysters
chicken broth
milk

Remove the chicken from the bones and cut in bite sized pieces. arrange a layer of crumbs in a large casserole. Dot generously with butter, then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add the chicken and cover with sliced mushrooms. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add a layer of crumbs and dot with butter. Add the oysters and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Top with layer of crumbs and butter. Mix equal parts of chicken broth and milk and pour in enough to almost cover casserole. Bake uncovered at 350ºF. for 45 minutes. Broil for 5 minutes or until browned. Makes 8 servings
