| | Chinese Ham Balls w/Fruited Ginger Sauce 1 pound of ground smoked ham 1 pound of pork sausage 1 tablespoon of instant minced onion 2 eggs 1/2 cup of dry bread crumbs 1/2 cup of milk 1/2 teaspoon of powdered mustard 1/2 cup of water 1 can of fruit cocktail 1/2 cup of orange juice 1 teaspoon of grated orange rind 2 tablespoons of cornstarch 1 tablespoon of sugar 1 tablespoon of soy sauce 1/2 teaspoon of powdered ginger 1/4 cup of vinegar 2 tablespoons of butter 1/4 cup of sherry |
| Combine the first 7 ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Shape into 2 inch balls. Brown on all sides in a skillet over low heat. Drain off excess fat and add water. Cover and cook for about 20 minutes. Drain the fruit cocktail, reserving 1 cup of syrup. Combine the fruit cocktail, reserved syrup and remaining ingredients in a saucepan and bring to boiling point over low heat, stirring frequently. Serve hot over Ham balls. Makes 8 servings
