Zucchini and Fettuccine

2 medium zucchini, cut into julienne strips
1/4 cup of olive oil
1 tablespoon of butter
3 large cloves garlic, peeled and minced
3 tablespoons of chopped fresh basil or 2 teaspoons of dried basil
12 ounces of fettuccine
1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese


Steam the zucchini in a small amount of water over high heat for 3 minutes, drain and set aside. Combine the oil,, butter, garlic and basil in small saucepan. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, do not allow garlic to brown. Cook fettuccine in boiling, salted water, following package directions, drain. Toss fettuccine with zucchini, garlic basil sauce ,  and grated cheese. Serve at once. Serves 4 - 6
