Pork Chops & Rice 2
four 3 ounce boneless pork chops
8 tablespoons of uncooked rice
1 cup of boiling water
1/2 teaspoon of rosemary
1/2 teaspoon of sage
1 teaspoon of sugar
8 slices to tomato
1/2 green pepper, sliced
1/2 teaspoon of basil
pepper to taste
4 teaspoons of butter
Brown the chops in frying pan or skillet. Remove to a casserole and put uncooked rice around chops. Pour fat off frying pan and add boiling water to pan. Add rosemary, sage and sugar. Pour over chops and rice. Add sliced tomatoes and green pepper. Sprinkle with basil and pepper. Dot with butter. Cover, bake about 30 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the meat is tender. Serves 4 |
