| | Oyster Stuffing 1 1/2 quarts of coarse dry bread crumbs 3 teaspoons of salt 1/4 teaspoon of pepper 4 tablespoons of butter or margarine 4 tablespoons of sausage fat 1/4 cup of milk 3 cups of shucked small oysters

| Combine the crumbs and seasonings. Add the melted butter and sausage fat. Brown the mixture for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. When lightly browned throughout, combine with milk and oysters. If the oysters are large , chop before mixing with crumbs. Makes almost 2 quarts of stuffing. Sage may also be added or other seasonings.
