Ziti with Sausage & Cream Sauce

2 tablespoons of olive oil
3 tablespoons of butter
1/4 cup of chopped onion
1 pound of Italian sweet sausage, casing removed
1 cup of heavy whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
1 pound of ziti
1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese


Heat the butter and oil in a large frying pan. Add the onions and sauté for 2 minutes. Add sausage and cook, crumbling with a fork, for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. reduce the heat to low and add cream, salt and pepper. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens, do not boil. Meanwhile, cook ziti in boiling, salted water following package directions, drain well. Place ziti in heated serving dish. Toss with sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Serve hot. Serves 6
